About Me
Welcome to the first step of therapy - the research phase. Reading and educating yourself about therapeutic modalities, clinical styles, and therapists is an essential part of the therapy process. My goal with this page is to give you some insight into my style and approach to therapy.
I work from an interpersonal and existential perspective because I believe that we are all seeking connection, meaning, and I believe that we have the skills to impact our own life and the life of those around us. While completing my Doctoral Psychology internship at NYU Langone Rusk Rehabilitation I was a witness to the emotional and physical resilience of people. I was fortunate to be a part of my patients’ journey to holding on to hope, finding a new identity, and creating meaning.
I am trained in the areas of gender affirming therapy, religion and sexual health, neuropsychological testing, and rehab psychology. I hold a New York State Mental Health Counseling License, a New York State Psychology License, and am an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. I have published in areas of masculinity, sexual behaviors, and personality disorders. My goal in therapy is to facilitate confidence and belief that you can make your own choices. Practicing psychotherapy in New York City gives me the opportunity to see clients from many walks of life with a variety of concerns. I am knowledgeable and aware of the importance of integrating a sex positive approach with religious beliefs. Together, we work on self-exploration, personal development, and learning new problem solving skills.
My work with you will be a collaborative process, where you can begin to create change in your life. You can expect culturally sensitive, gender affirming, poly & kink friendly therapy. Additionally, I work from an affirming lens with clients who are gender nonconforming and transgender.
