Above all, I view sessions as your time. I am here as a guide, but you're the ultimate expert on you. I use an eclectic take on psychotherapy, working with you to figure out what types of interventions will and won't benefit you. I'm not interested in handing down judgement from on high about the "right" ways to live. I'm interested in helping you be the best you that you can be by finding your right path. Therapy isn't one size fits all, nor should it be.
I've worked in a wide variety of settings, helping many different people from inmates at Rikers Island to foster children and their parents to people in private practice. These experiences have given me a unique perspective from which to work, balancing cultural, social, economic, and other realities with mental health. It's all so intertwined that finding an affirming therapist who will provide a safe space is of the utmost importance. I want to provide that safe space for you.
I offer judgement free psychotherapy, and my background certainly helps with that. I'm poly- and kink-friendly, and I've worked with people on all ends (and in-betweens) of the sexuality and gender spectrums. I see individuals for most mental health needs they may have, whether the issues have been lifelong or are due to recent setbacks. I also do couples and family counseling, including parenting support in a collaborative format.
